Nadine Faye James is a fine artist based in Stroud, UK, where she paints from a spacious old mill. She studied at University of West England, Bristol, where she graduated in 1997 with a BA (Hons) Illustration and also holds an MA from London's Royal College of Art, where she graduated in 2001. Nadine roams the British countryside, looking for graphic shapes in nature. Her beautiful oil paintings and drawings are fresh, contemporary depictions of glades, fields and dense woodlands, inspired by a sense of romance from the writers who have vividly depicted the areas in their writing. Nadine’s expresses her personal language, translating the landscape through pattern and colour, stitching these together with brushstrokes to express an emotional response to what she perceives. Sensitive and disquieting they are heady with the promise of a burgeoning summer. These images are a taste of an intimacy with nature, of long grass and sunlight. She exhibits regularly in solo and group shows.
